Waste management is defined as undertaking the assigned measures of managing waste that includes gathering, transport, re-use and storage of waste, including surveillance over the activities which are undertaken, as well as monitoring the dump sites after their closure. Waste management is done in a way that minimizes health risks that may endanger people’s lives and the environment, through control and the risk-reduction measures.
Waste is a material, a raw material, or an object that is a result of the daily life and production activities, and as such, it is most frequently deployed to the dump site, i.e. the landfill.
